“Why do I need SEO and PPC?” I hear you asking…

..But what you really should be asking is “What do I want to achieve from my website?”

Good question.

Let’s face it, you want to reach the right audience and get more page views on your site, right?

And this is where SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) comes in. The main objective of SEO is to get your site on the first page of search results so that more people see it (therefore, click on it) when they search for your keywords.

How is this done?

Funny you should ask that because here’s a lovely little infographic we’ve done to explain how it’s all done. This shows how a recruiter can get more applications using good SEO, but this process can benefit ANY website.

If you’re still not sure, SEO can be explained simply:

1. Keyword Research – This is crucial! You need to know what terms your audience use when they search. Just because you use a word to describe your products/services doesn’t mean your customers do.

2. High quality, regularly updated content – Google and the other search engines LOVE websites with regularly updated content. You should be using Twitter & Facebook and your site to talk to your audience so that you provide them with useful, interesting information.

3. Keyword Rich, Properly Optimised Pages – You must tailor each web page on your site around keywords that gain search traffic and are relevant to that page’s content.

4. High quality on-way back links – Google trusts pages that have lots of links pointing at them from other sites. But only good links! If you’ve got lots of links pointing at you from a reputable source, the more Google will trust you, therefore putting you higher in the search results.

SEO is a long term solution and, when it’s done properly, can gain you valuable FREE traffic. However, it can take a little while for SEO techniques to effect your search rankings…

So if you want to see some IMMEDIATE results in the short term, then Pay Per Click advertising is the answer for you! PPC advertising means your website will show on Google immediately and can gain you targeted traffic. The great thing is you only pay if somebody actually clicks on your ad! Pretty good deal, if you ask us.

You can find the sponsored advertising  results to the right and above the organic optimised results.
