Recruiting carers with social media and online – Net Natives are the Real Deal…
“You guys are obviously the real deal & have something proven & tangible (rarer than you might think)” – Sefton Council
“It was a real eye-opener for me as someone who has NEVER even used Facebook. It all makes perfect sense in the current climate with 85% of the population being on line. I had a brilliant day” – Futures for Children
This week and in partnership with the British Association for Adoption and Fostering, Net Natives spoke at a social media conference hosted by the BBC and attended by several local authorities.
We shared our experiences from running hundreds of Facebook and Google campaigns for councils across the country, with top tips for social and online engagement slides that can be found here.
The audience learnt some interesting stats – for example, there were 250,000 Google searches related to fostering last month alone and, as an agency, we’ve built a database of 2,500 relevant terms and phrases that surround fostering and adoption. Google is where prospective and current carers go for their information; we shared our knowledge on how to reach them when they search.
They also learnt some best practice on content strategy and engagement using Facebook, where thousands of carers were ready to be engaged.
We’re really pleased that our advice seems to have really hit home and ignited so much excitement and enthusiasm in the attendees. Council representatives walked away inspired by how our work has already benefited local authorities and with new ideas for social engagement and have given us some great responses already. Thanks!
We really loved seeing how keen the councils were to find out more about advertising, creating a community and engaging with their audience in the digital and social worlds. If you’d love to find out more too, you can take a look at some of our recent blogs on just how specific you can get on Facebook, how our very own social marketing software Big Top can make it so much easier to post Facebook content on mobile, and how Facebook’s recent developments make it a brilliant business platform.
Of course, you can speak to us directly too. To take the first step towards using social media as a family-finding tool, give us a call on 01273 734 640 or get in touch with us here and we’ll get back to you.
