Meet the Natives: Abi Aldred, Junior Account Manager – Europe

At Net Natives, we’re incredibly passionate about working with education institutions across the globe, and having recently established new relationships in Sweden and Germany we thought there was no better time to catch up with our expanding European team for the latest post in our ‘Meet the Natives’ series.

Abi AldredThis week we sat down to chat with Abi Aldred, Junior Account Manager working with our European clients. Abi gives us an insight into her impressive multi-cultural education, as well as explaining why she thinks Net Natives is such a special place to work.

So Abi, let’s dive straight in. Why is Net Natives such a special place?

Net Natives is a hub of like-minded, creative and passionate people based in one of the most vibrant cities in the UK. There’s a reason why we call ourselves Natives, and it’s because of the sense of belonging that comes with working here. Everyone works as a team to grow the business and go above and beyond for clients, and each other.

Tell us a bit about your background and what brought you to Net Natives…

I have recently finished my Master’s in International Journalism at Sussex and before that, I studied English Literature and Spanish at the University of Manchester. I also lived in Madrid for a year, but Brighton is the first place that really feels like home. Net Natives came at the perfect time in my life and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work in such an exciting sector with so much potential for growth.

What are you looking forward to achieving at Net Natives?

Expanding our client base in Europe. It has been so exciting starting relationships with clients in new countries and cities, and I can’t wait to work with clients from all corners of Europe.

Tell us something that no-one would guess about yourself…

People are often surprised that I am half-Spanish. You would never guess from my very fair complexion!

What do you get up to outside of work?

Brighton is a great place for food and drink, and I spend a lot of time in various pubs across the city. I also like spending time at the beach (in the winter as well as the summer).

If you could describe yourself in three words, what would those words be?

Enthusiastic, open-minded, laid-back.

What does a typical day at Net Natives look like for you?

Every day is different. My days are divided between client calls, preparing proposals and researching markets. Every day I’ll be learning something new.

Can you tell me a little bit about what the role entails?

I have joined the Europe team looking after and working with new accounts across Europe. I am joining Tash, our European Partners Manager, to help educational organisations recruit international students. However, our work doesn’t stop at enrolments, and we’re always ready for any marketing challenge our clients might have.

What is your proudest Net Natives achievement, so far?

Being voted most brilliant person of the month!
